Rose Hips

"Rose Hips" 26"x39" Acrylic on Canvas 2008 ($800) Wild roses are pervasive in the area of our former home in Prince George, BC. The brilliant red rose hips decorate the brush like Christmas lights in the fall. The birds will get at them in time. This bush is on a small section of land about 30-40 yards from my former front door. Up until a few weeks ago before I painted it(late September, 2008) it was so dense that you could neither see into it nor walk in it. I did, however hide my grass clippings in it. The city removed most of the brush and trees and put them through a chipper. The chips now cover the ground, making for a pleasant little stroll in the woods.
