The Trail

The Trail 32" x 48" acrylic on canvas 2006 Double Frame ($900.00) We are standing on Sentinel Pass, the highest point on a prepared trail in the Canadian Rockies looking back from whence we've come. The trail meanders its way across an alpine tundra having made its way up the switchbacks from Moraine Lake and through the beautiful rolling Larch Valley. Another set of switchbacks up the headwall bring us to the summit of the Sentinel Pass. Ahead lies Paradise Valley and the Grand Sentinel (see the Paining Gallery). Looking back we see the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Clouds are piling up behind the mountains, always something to keep an eye on in the mountains. One July day, having started out in sunshine to this very place, I was caught in a fierce snowstorm on the way down. It blew over and the hike was finished in sunshine.
