Wilcox Pass

Wilcox Pass 2006 31.5" x 45" SOLD Wilcox Pass is a favourite alpine hike. Situated on the Icefields Parkway near the Athabasca Glacier, one gets above the treeline very quickly and has sublime panoramic views of Mount Andromeda centered in the painting. The shadowed green rise of land in the middle ground is home to a significant herd of Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep. The shallow water in the foreground reflecting the bright snow on Mount Andromeda is run-off from a melting snowpack. When we get to this point, the dogs are glad of a drink, or even a lie down in the water to cool off. Some days are just breathtakingly beautiful. Our friend Alan says "It doesn't get any better than this".
