Snow Fall at Slim Creek

SNOW FALL AT SLIM CREEK 42" X 28" 2006 Acrylic on Canvas SOLD Slim Creek is well known to folk in Prince George. It's a rest stop one and a half hours east of PG on the way to McBride and Jasper. It is just far enough for a cup of Tim's to work its way into the bladder. It's wild, high country, home to bears, moose and salmon streams. If it's going to snow, it'll snow at Slim Creek. I took the photo on which this painting is based standing in snow almost up to my hips. This is a true monochromatic painting. Only one colour was used besides the non-colours, Mars Black and Titanium White, that is, Permanent Green Deep. It's painted on a black gesso ground which gives it its depth. When it's snowing fairly hard there is little colour in nature. It's a nice "winter" painting. I hope you're enjoying it.
