Gone! But Not Forgotten
Johnston Canyon - Winter
JOHNSTON CANYON - WINTER 72" X 24" 2006 Acrylic on Canvas (SOLD)
The Johnston Canyon hike is one of the most famous in Banff National Park, and therefore, the world. It is a very busy hike in the summer. Literally thousands of people visit and enjoy its wonders. In winter it is quieter. Young folk seeking the thrill of ice climbing visit the series of water falls, now frozen. The water at the base of the falls has carved deep potholes. One is portrayed here.
Yes, this painting is an unusual size - 6 feet by 2 feet. It is easy to accommodate in its width, but its length is only 2 feet short of the full floor to ceiling length of the standard house. If you look carefully, it's amazing how many places in any house it can be hung. I'm enjoying it in my house.
