Gone! But Not Forgotten
Marble Canyon
"Marble Canyon" Acrylic on Canvas, 36" x 24" 2008 (SOLD)
Marble Canyon is a wonderful, relatively short, recreational hike in Kootenay National Park, fairly close to the Banff NP border. In 2003, a major forest fire swept over the area, hence the bare trunks across the sky at the top of the painting. The trees that were spared were those right down in the canyon closer to the water. The milky blue glacial water running through the canyon is headed for the Vermillion River.
