Waterfall

"Waterfall" 48" x 32" Acrylic on Canvas 2008 (Sold) Yes, the waterfall is a small element in the painting, but not in the landscape. The hike up to Stanley Glacier is an accessible favorite among visitors to the mountain parks. It is located in Kootenay National Park, not far from the Continental Divide at the border of Banff NP. The waterfall is evidence of the headwaters of Stanley Creek which flows down the mountain side to the Vermillion River. This river in turn flows into the Columbia system to the Pacific. The massive headwall is also very wet with meltwater from the glacier. It's a dramatic landscape.
